Specialising in refractive cataract surgery and lens replacement, Mr Ikram is very experienced in many refractive surgery techniques for the management of conditions such as myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness), astigmatism (cornea may be rugby ball shaped) and presbyopia (age related reduction in the eye’s ability to focus on near targets such as when reading), as well as the use of advanced technology lens implants. Mr Ikram has a particular interest in improving the standards of assessment and planning for refractive cataract and lens replacement surgery, and has run teaching conferences in these areas at both a national and international level.
