Karen Goodall is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and partner of MCEP (Manchester Consultants Eye Partnership). MCEP work in a joint venture with CareUK at The Croft Shifa Health Centre, Belfield Road, Rochdale. Karen has been instrumental in the development of the community based ophthalmic service in Rochdale, which offers outpatients and cataract surgery in the community. Karen specialises in small incision cataract surgery and consults for retinal disorders but no longer offers surgery for retinal problems. She also specialises in the management and treatment of macula diseases. Having completed subspecialty training at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH) she went on to complete a vitreoretinal fellowship under the auspices of Professor McLeod, at the MREH. Following completion of her subspecialty training and completion of her CCST ( Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) she took up a Consultant position at The Royal Oldham Hospital, Oldham. During her post, from 2000 – 2014, Karen established and developed the Vitreo-Retinal service and the macula degeneration service for The Pennine Acute Trust which serves Oldham, Rochdale, North Manchester and Tameside Acute Trust serving Tameside and Glossop.
